What is the safest form of liposuction?

Tumescent liposuction is the safest form of liposuction. There are various assists with liposuction like power assisted liposuction, laser and radiofrequency assisted.  Ultrasound (VASER) is also used but not in our practice.

What is a liposuction cannula?

A liposuction cannula is a small stainless steel tube that is inserted through a small incision into the skin and removes the fat.

Does liposuction treat obesity?

Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity.

How does abdominal liposuction differ from a tummy tuck?

Liposuction only removes fat, a tummy tuck removes fat, skin and tightens the abdominal wall.  Learn More on Tummy Tuck

What areas can be treated with liposuction?

Virtually any area with superficial fat can be improved with liposuction, this excludes the eye region and buccal fat pads (cheek).

What is tumescent liposuction?

Tumescent liposuction is a form of liposuction that uses tumescent local anesthesia. This is a combination of i.v. solution, lidocaine, sodium bicarbonate and epinephrine.
